PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly discard cutting chips produced at a cutting mechanism and suppress the occurrence of paper clogging in the vicinity of the cutting mechanism. SOLUTION: A sheet unwound from a sheet supply section is conveyed toward the downstream in the conveying direction without printing a color image while being opposed to a printing section. Then, the sheet is stopped conveying at the point of time when the sheet having the length capable of printing all the plurality of color images contained in one order is conveyed on the downstream in the conveying direction further than the printing section. Afterward, while the sheet is reversely conveyed toward the upstream in the conveying direction, the plurality of color images are printed continuously and the sheet is cut at the tip end part and the rear end part of images. The passage 57 on the upstream of the cutting mechanism 50 is closed when the sheet cutting is not performed, opened only when the sheet cutting is performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
