Honeycomb structure (1) comprising porous cell dividing wall (4) having a multiplicity of pores arranged so as to define multiple cells (3) communicating two end faces (2a) with each other and comprising cavity sealing part (10) disposed so as to seal the cavity of the cells (3) at either of the end faces (2a) or inside the cells (3). The permeability of cell dividing wall (4) is in the range of 7×10^-12 to 4×10^-8 m². Thus, there is provided a honeycomb structure capable of providing a honeycomb catalytic substance that excels in purification efficiency, realizing low pressure loss and that can be mounted even within limited spaces.
