A home network system is provided to control a non-networking home appliance, and to overcome infrared signal reaching failure caused by an obstacle between the non-networking home appliance and a home server, thereby mitigating restrictions on installation positions of the non-networking home appliance and home server. A non-networking adapter(150) is mounted so as to face an infrared receiver of a non-networking home appliance(160) having the infrared receiver for receiving an infrared control signal, and receives a wirelessly transmitted control code to output the infrared control signal to the infrared receiver. A home server(100) has a non-networking controller(130) for wirelessly delivering the corresponding control code to the non-networking adapter(150) if a control command signal for the non-networking home appliance(160) is received.
