A method for manufacturing toner taken in an image formation apparatus is provided to easily control size, distribution and shape of toner particles and reduce washing processes thereof, thereby decreasing amount of waste water generated during the washing process. The method comprises the steps of: preparing a pigment dispersion by mixing a reactive emulsifier and a coloring agent; preparing a toner composition by adding macromer which has hydrophilic group, hydrophobic group and at least one reactive functional group, and at least one polymeric monomer to the prepared pigment dispersion; emulsification-polymerizing the composition in a medium; and separating and drying the polymerized toner. The reactive emulsifier contains polyoxyethylene alkylphenylether moiety, is selected from anion reactive emulsifiers having vinyl, acrylate or methacrylate group, and has weight average molecular weight of 100 to 1,000. The macromer has weight average molecular weight ranging from 500 to 100,000.
