A lawnmower comprises a deck 1 defining a cutting chamber open to ground datum. A chute leads from the cutting chamber to an exit aperture formed in the deck 1. A grass-box 3 has an entry opening 3b for admitting cut grass, and the grass-box is detachably mounted on a carrier 4. The carrier 4 is pivotally mounted on the deck 1 for movement between a first position, in which the grass-box entry opening 3b is in alignment with the exit aperture, and a second position, in which the grass-box entry opening is out of alignment with the exit aperture and the carrier guards the exit aperture. The grass box is preferably locked to the carrier, to the carrier, apart from when it is in the second position. |
