Spread spectrum encoding device and method using data to send as initial values of sequence generator

An m-bit shift register stores data to be sent that are generated by a data generator 1 bit at a time sequentially. An orthogonal M sequence generator generates an M sequence with the m bits of data to be sent that are stored in the shift register as an initial value, then generates an orthogonal M sequence from that M sequence. A clock signal generator generates a clock signal of frequency 2 times the data rate of the data to be sent. The orthogonal M sequence generator operates in accordance with that clock signal.
