A wheeled luggage case comprises a luggage receptacle having a major wall of the receptacle adapted to serve as a wail that faces the ground during a wheeled mode of travel of the luggage case, a plurality of wheels 57 at one end of the bottom wall, a retractable steering wheel 58 assembly 68 located on the bottom wall at a location spaced from the plurality of wheels, the steering wheel assembly being moveable between an active position at which the steering wheel assembly extends below the bottom wall of the luggage receptacle and an inactive position at which the steering wheel assembly is retracted and a handle 67 located at one end of the luggage receptacle for steering, pushing and/or pulling purposes.
