A process for producing argon by Iow temperature air fractionation, comprising the following steps: feeding a rectification column of at Ieast one section (12,14) with said air (10); extracting from said rectification column an argon-containing fraction (18) and feeding it to a crude argon column (16); extracting from said crude argon column an argon-containing fraction (22) and feeding it to a nitrogen removal column (24); and extracting from said nitrogen removal column an argon-containing fraction (30) and feeding it to a pure argon column (32). |
