Water-based inks for ink-jet printing

The present invention relates to a water dispersion for ink-jet printing including a colorant, metal oxide fine particles having an average particle size of 110 to 400 nm, and water-insoluble polymer particles, a weight ratio of the metal oxide fine particles to the colorant (metal oxide fine particles/colorant) being from 0.15 to 10. According to the present invention, it is possible to achieve a high optical density of images upon printing the images with the water-based ink on a plain paper.
