APPARATUS AND METHOD OF VALID DATA DETECTION IN UWB SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for detecting a radio signal in a UWB(Ultra Wide Band) system are provided to perform data transmission/reception between a network home appliance and a mobile phone accurately and rapidly by minimizing the influence of several noise and interference generated in a wireless environment. In an apparatus for detecting a radio signal in a UWB system, an offset compensation part(210) compensates a DC offset component of inputted data. A first correlation part(220) calculates 8 cross correlation of the offset-compensated data. An energy calculation part(230) calculates an energy value by approximating the offset-compensated data. A bit number restriction part(240) restricts the correlation value and the energy value according to a data pattern of the calculated 8 cross correlation value and the energy value. A second correlation part(250) generates 128 cross correlation value and then approximates the 128 cross correlation value by adding 16 cross correlation value to the 8 cross correlation value. A moving average value calculation part(260) calculates a moving average value as to the energy value outputted from the bit number restriction part. A judgment part(270) judges whether the inputted data is the valid data.
