METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS OF HOME NETWORK

A method for managing multimedia contents of a home network and a device therefor are provided to enable a user to edit meta data of the multimedia contents existing within the home network, in offline state, and to transmit the edited meta data to the home network, in order that the edited meta data can be applied to the corresponding multimedia contents. Meta data for multimedia contents is received from a controlled device(410,420). The received meta data is edited in offline state(430). The edited meta data is transmitted to the controlled device, so that the edited meta data is applied to the corresponding multimedia contents(440). The meta data is realized in the form of 'DIDL-Lite'.
