A tray cover locking apparatus for a vehicle is provided to prevent a locking state of a tray cover from being influenced by a rotation restraining member and a locking plate even when a body case is damaged or a lock releasing button is damaged due to an external impact. A tray cover locking apparatus for a vehicle includes a body case(110), a body, a lock releasing button(130), a locking plate rotation restraining member, and a locking plate(150). A body reception section(111) is provided at an upper portion of the front side of the body case and a locking plate reception section(112) is provided at a lower portion of the rear side of the body case. The lock releasing button is fixed to the rear side of an upper portion of the body. A rotation restraining protrusion is provided in the locking plate rotation restraining member. The locking plate is installed in the locking plate reception section of the body case so as to be freely rotated upward and downward through a rotation center shaft(151) and is resiliently supported by a spring installed in the rotation center shaft. A suspension boss inserted into a suspension piece of a cover is provided in the locking plate. A catching protrusion corresponding to the rotation restraining protrusion of the locking plate rotation restraining member is provided at a lower central portion of the locking plate.
