A permanent wave and straightener composition is provided to be able to significantly alleviate or recover hair damage and scalp irritation, reduce bad smell after application and provide stable and elastic curl and straight within short period of time. The composition for permanent wave and straightener consisting of a reductive first agent and an oxidative second agent or the reductive first agent is characterized in that the reductive first agent comprises acetyl cysteine and cysteamine in a mixture ratio of 0.5:1-1:0.5. The content of the reductive first agent is 1.0-8.0 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition.
