A rear side monitoring camera for a vehicle having two cameras photographing different regions and a system for controlling drive thereof are provided to secure a long-distance visual field from the rear side of the vehicle by monitoring an image photographed by the cameras mounted to photograph the ground and a horizontal direction when the vehicle moves forward. In a rear side monitoring camera for a vehicle, a camera(2) facing downward by an angle of 10 degrees with the ground surface and a camera(1) maintaining an angle of 40 to 60 degrees from the horizontal angle are mounted to a body(3) of the monitoring camera. The two cameras are selectively driven according to the start of the vehicle and the gear position. The body is rotatably engaged with both ends of a bracket. A sun shield(5) disposed at the upper end of the body for protecting the body is rotatably engaged with both ends of the bracket. Protection glasses(7,8) are mounted on the front sides of the two cameras. The protection glasses are fixed by external fixing units(9) or are mounted from the interior of the body. |
