A network registration method of a GSM(Global Standard System for Mobile Communications) terminal is provided to be capable of storing an RPLMN(Registered PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network)) value stored in an SIM(Subscriber Identity Module) only, even in an internal memory of an MSM(Mobile Station Modem) in case of network registration of the GSM terminal, so that the stored value can be used during the network registration, thus speed is improved during the network registration. In case of power-up of a GSM terminal, the terminal reads an RPLMN value from an SIM while reading an RPLMN value from a memory within an MSM to compare the read values(S31-S34). If the read values are different, the terminal demands network registration to a corresponding network based on the RPLMN value read from the memory within the MSM(S36-S38). The terminal confirms whether the network registration is completed, and upgrades a PLMN whose network registration is completed, into the RPLMN value of the memory within the MSM while upgrading a PLMN value of the SIM(S39-S41).
