A DEVELOPER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A developing apparatus and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided to couple a doctor blade to a cover frame of the developing apparatus by welding so that the cover frame serves as a cover of a main frame, thereby miniaturizing the developing apparatus because an additional support bracket for the doctor blade is not necessary. A developing apparatus body has a toner supply hole. A developing roller(32) is installed in the developing apparatus body. A transport unit(37) sends toner, provided to the toner supply hole, to the developing roller. A doctor blade(31d) regulates thickness of the toner supplied to the developing roller. The developing apparatus body houses the developing roller and the transport unit and includes a main frame(31a) whose upper surface is open and a cover frame(31b) coupled to the main frame so as to cover its upper portion. The doctor blade is integrally formed with the cover frame by welding.
