A vehicle element monitoring system using a telematics terminal and a method thereof are provided to decide whether a power system of a vehicle is normal or not, through the telematics terminal, and to notify a user of the decided results, thereby improving a driver's alarm recognition effect. A telematics terminal(200) comprises the followings. A controller(250) includes a vehicle element decider for deciding whether a vehicle element is normal or not, by using vehicle element information provided from a vehicle element detector, and delivers the vehicle element information and an abnormality signal if the vehicle element is not normal. An abnormality display(260) visually or auditorily displays the abnormality signal for a user if the abnormality signal is received from the controller(250).
