METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING BASE STATION'S FREQUENCY BANDWIDTH IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM WITH FREQUENCY BANDWIDTH SCALABILITY

A method for recognizing the frequency bandwidth of a base station in a mobile communication system having the scalability of frequency bandwidths is provided to use the frequency resources of a mobile communication system more efficiently by allowing a mobile station to discriminate a connected base station and recognize frequency bandwidth of the base station. Base stations, having respectively different frequency bands, transmit their zone "A" information to a mobile station at an identical frequency location having an identical center frequency. The mobile station, receiving the zone "A" information from the base stations, executes comparison, such as correlation, etc., with respect to zone "A" information of the base stations and recognizes the existence of each base station. Recognizing the existence of each base station through comparison, the mobile station recognizes frequency bandwidths of each base station through the information contained in zone "A" information of each base station.
