Provided is a colorant-containing curable composition, which is useful for forming a color filter used in a liquid crystal display device or solid imaging device, and satisfies the requirements of a fine or thin colored pattern for a high precision color filter. The colorant-containing curable composition comprises a colorant and a solvent. The colorant includes a compound represented by the following formula(I) and/or a tautomer thereof, and the solvent is at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of cyclohexanone, cyclopentanone, propylene glycol methyl ether, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate, lactate and diacetone alcohol. In formula(I), each of R1, R3 and R4 independently represents H, a C1-C21 alkyl, C2-C21 alkenyl, C6-C21 aryl, C7-C21 aralkyl or a hetero atom-containing substituent, with the condition that at least one of R1, R3 and R4 is a hetero atom-containing substituent, wherein the R3 and R4 form a heterocyclic ring with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached; and R2 represents a C1-C10 alkyl, methyoxymethyl or trifluoromethyl.
