A modem reset system and method of a mobile terminal are provided to prevent components and a charging battery of a mobile terminal from being worn out by a heating phenomenon caused by a continuous operation of a modem of the mobile terminal. An input unit(210) receives a user request. A mobile terminal modem(220) transmits a transmission request signal according to content inputted by the input unit(210). A counting unit(230) counts the number of transmissions of the transmission request signal transmitted from the mobile terminal modem(220). A controller(240) determines whether to reset the mobile terminal modem(220) according to the number of transmissions transmitted from the counting unit(230). A resetting unit(250) resets the mobile terminal modem(220) according to determination of the controller(240).
