The dispersant is a reaction product of hydrocarbyl substituted acylating agent(s) and amine(s). #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for the following: (1) lubricating composition, which comprises fluid additive composition; (2) vehicle, which comprises transmission including lubricating composition; (3) method for improving storage stability of lubricating composition, which involves adding fluid additive composition to lubricating composition; (4) fuel composition, which comprises base fuel of large amount, and fluid additive composition of less amount; (5) engine combusting the fluid additive composition or fuel composition; and (6) actuated injector contacting the fuel additive composition or fuel composition. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For lubricating composition for power transmitting application such as step automatic transmission, manual transmission, and belt, chain or disk type continuously variable transmission, automated manual and dual-clutch transmission, and for fuel composition of vehicle engine (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The fluid additive composition improves storage stability of lubricating composition. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Composition: The amount of dispersant is 20-70 wt.% with respect to total weight of the additive composition. The additive composition, lubricating composition and fuel composition further comprise at least one additive chosen from dispersant, detergent, antioxidant, metal deactivator, dye, marker, copper corrosion inhibitor, biocide, antistatic additive, demulsifier, dehazer, anti-icing additive, lubricity additive, extreme pressure additive, cold flow improver, friction modifier, antiwear agent, antifoam agent, viscosity index improver, antirust additive, seal swell agent, metal deactivator and air expulsion additive. The lubricating composition further comprises a base oil. The lubricating composition is power transmission fluid, such as an automatic transmission fluid or a manual transmission fluid. Preferred Agent: The hydrocarbyl substituted acylating agent is derived from polyalkene. The polyalkene is chosen from homopolymer and interpolymer of olefin monomer comprising 2-16 carbon atoms. The polyalkene is polyisobutene. The polyalkene is reacted with at least one carboxylic acylating reagent, such as maleic anhydride. Preferred Compound: The amine is chosen from primary, secondary and tertiary amine. Preferred Oil: The base oil comprises at least one of natural oil and synthetic oil. The natural oil comprises at least one of mineral oil and vegetable oil. The synthetic oil comprises at least one oligomer of alpha -olefin, an ester, an oil derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process, and a gas-to-liquid stock. The base oil is contained in the composition in a large amount. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Dispersant was obtained by reacting polyisobutylene having terminal vinylidine content of more than 80%, and maleic anhydride, and reacting polyisobutylene succinic anhydride intermediate with tetraethylene pentamine in ratio of 2:1. The highly reactive dispersant (in wt.%) (35.04), viscosity modifier (90), other dispersant (3.17), detergent (0.7), friction modifier (2), dibutyl hydrogen phosphite (0.5), thiadiazole (1.3), antioxidant (3.2), minor component (0.33), and diluent oil (31.7) were mixed to obtain a fluid additive composition. Storage stability of a lubricating composition was improved using the fluid additive composition.
