A method for measuring ground strength using electric current and an apparatus used in the same are provided to improve safety of construction by measuring ground strength for all excavation points. A method for measuring ground strength using electric current includes the steps of measuring electric current wasted in rotation of an inner load, measuring a depth excavated by a bit and an external casing, calculating a supporting strength of the excavated ground based on the electric current and the excavation depth, and outputting the supporting strength of the ground on a display device. The calculation step includes the steps of calculating power based on the measured electric current and voltage value, calculating a front end destruction stress based on the power value, the excavation depth, a rotation diameter of the bit, and a rotation speed of the bit, calculating an allowable front end stress based on the calculation value of the front end destruction stress, calculating an allowable vertical compressing stress based on the allowable front end stress, and calculating the supporting strength of the ground based on the calculation value of the allowable vertical compression stress.
