An apparatus for locking a glove box for a vehicle is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by constituting the locking apparatus of the glove box to be manually operated. In an apparatus for locking a glove box for a vehicle, if a button(20) is pressed, a wire(60) connected to the button pulls a pair of rods transversely formed in a housing formed on the front surface of the glove box to open a door. An operation rod(30) extends from the button in the interior of a housing(10) to which the button is fixed and has a rack gear at an end of the operation rod. A pinion gear(40) rotated together with the rack gear is provided so that a gear rod(42) protrudes to the outside of the housing. A wire is engaged with the lower end of a helical gear and is operated upward and downward by the rotation of the gear rod.
