IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD, CORRECTION VALUE DETERMINING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for forming an image with high in-plane uniformity.

SOLUTION: A printer 10 applies correction processing of DLUT (Direct Look Up Table) correction system and correction processing of light exposure correction system in series, and determines the amount of correction of DLUT correction system and the amount of correction of light exposure correction system sequentially from the post-stage correction processing. Furthermore, the printer 10 selects a target density value from a low density zone where false contour line tends to be actualized, and determines the amount of correction of light exposure correction system such that in-plane unevenness of target density value is suppressed. Consequently, in-plane unevenness is suppressed in all density regions and image quality defect (e.g. false contour line) caused by in-plane unevenness correction processing can be prevented from being actualized.
