<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture coding/decoding method and device capable of applying encoding to a fade video or a dissolving video wherein the brightness of moving pictures temporally changes with a high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a frame memory/prediction picture generator 108 selects one combination from a plurality of combinations prepared in advance, each combination including at least one reference picture number and a predictive parameter including a weighting factor and offset information, summates offsets of reference picture signals denoted by the reference image numbers included in the selected combinations according to weighting factors, and generates a prediction picture signal 212 in accordance with the reference picture number and predictive parameter of the selected combination, and a variable-length encoder 111 encodes quantization orthogonal transformation coefficient information 210 associated with a predictive error signal of the prediction picture signal 212 with respect to an input video signal 100, mode information 213 indicating an encoding mode, vector information 214, and index information 215 indicating the selected combination of the reference picture number and predictive parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
