A system for reporting and obtaining device information comprises device management (DM) server, device information source server and service application server, and the foresaid DM server comprises: application interface module which is used to receive the terminal information request from the service application server and query terminal information database according to the terminal information request, and transmitting querying result to the service application server; terminal interface module which is used to receive the terminal information from the device information source server and save the terminal information into terminal information database; terminal information database which is used to save the terminal information. The said device information source server is used to transmit the terminal device information to the DM server. The said service application server is used to transmit device information request to the DM server and receive the device information from the DM server. By applying the invention, the work efficiency of terminal manufacturers and operators whould be improved, and the adaptation capability of terminal device obtains strong ensuring.
