The seal has a sealing unit (9) with sealing lips (10) and arranged between a housing (2) and a shaft (3) and/or between a bearing outer ring and a bearing inner ring. The sealing unit is surrounded by a circular sealing shoe (4), which completely seals the sealing unit together with a ring washer (12). The circular sealing shoe forms a hollow space (7), with a tapered chamber wall (8), which is directed to the interior of the housing and/or a roller bearing. The sealing lips of the sealing unit are accommodated in the chamber wall.
