The splitter has two different pistons, where one piston (3) having a smooth base surface crushes and pulverizes a tablet (1) in a cylinder (2). The powder lying on the cylinder base is portionwisely withdrawn with the other piston from the cylinder by lateral movement of the pistons. The latter piston has a base surface that is filled with lamellas/spikes. The former piston has a marking (4), which is defined for respective tablet form and with which it can be recognized whether the tablet is completely pulverized and the powder is evenly distributed on the cylinder base.
