The method involves registering input image signals and image type data. An image type is then determined for the input image signals in accordance with the image type data. A corresponding processing algorithm is selected according to the image type, and the image signals are processed by the processing algorithm so that output image signals are generated which can be represented as a three-dimensional image or a series of three-dimensional images for a viewer on a corresponding image reproducing apparatus. The images can be sent over wire or wireless networks. An independent claim is included for an array for three-dimensionally perceptible representation of such images.
