[PROBLEMS] To provide a chemical evaporation device that permits reuse of container, attaining satisfactory evaporation of an evaporative agent component, and provide a relevant method. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Evaporation device (1) comprises container (10), heat generator (20) disposed in the container and capable of generating heat through reaction with water, and evaporative agent (30) containing an evaporative component and incorporated in water. The heat generator (20) consists of, enclosed in inner bag (24), exothermic agent (23) containing aluminum powder and calcined lime powder. A given amount of water is introduced in the container (10), and the evaporative agent (30) is directly placed in the water. The exothermic agent (23) of the heat generator (20) reacts with the water, and, entrained by steam and hydrogen gas produced by the reaction and heat generation, the evaporative agent (30) and/or vapor thereof is diffused.
