The subscriber has a field bus input, a field bus output (120) and an integrated bus termination (180), where the field bus input is connected with the bus output. The field bus output is equipped with a detector (140), and a filter (150), a comparator (160) and a switch (170) are arranged in chain downstream to the detector. The bus termination is connectable with bus lines (111, 112) by the switch depending on the availability of another subscriber at the field bus output. Indicator units (190) are provided, which signalizes the condition of the bus scheduling.
