PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new metal-containing compound, to provide a metal chelate pigment and a coloring composition obtained from the metal-containing compound, to provide an ink-jet printing liquid containing the metal chelate pigment, to provide an ink-jet printing method using the ink-jet recording liquid, to provide a color toner, a color filter and an optical information recording medium containing the metal chelate pigment, and to provide an optical information recording method using the optical information recording medium.

SOLUTION: The metal-containing compound is obtained by reacting a compound represented by general formula (1) with a divalent metal salt. Wherein, R1and R2are an alkyl or a cycloalkyl; and R3is a substituted phenoxy.
