<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a bright and high-contrast display under both bright and dark surroundings in a display device equipped with an illumination part on the observer's side. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with the illumination part 200 disposed on a reflective liquid crystal display part 300. The illumination part 200 is equipped with: a first transparent substrate 10; a second transparent substrate 20 joined to the first substrate via a seal layer; an anode layer 13 disposed on a surface of the first substrate and composed of a material for a transparent electrode; an organic layer 14 formed so as to cover the anode layer; a cathode layer 15 formed on a position overlapping with the anode layer via the organic layer so as to have a predetermined pattern, and arranged so as to make its pitch of arrangement form an angle with a direction of the pitch of the pixel arrangement in an inclined direction; and an organic electroluminescence element having a transparent electrode layer (18) formed so as to cover the cathode layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
