PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an imaging device to be quickly activated for a short period of time without the need for a new CPU even when a removal of a recording medium occurs. SOLUTION: When a PC and a recording medium 200 are connected with a general-purpose interface 205, the controller 201 of the recording medium 200 can execute a read/write processing of image data received from the PC on a second nonvolatile memory 203. The controller 201, however, cannot execute the read/write processing of management information 300 in a first nonvolatile memory 202. When a digital camera 100 and the recording medium 200 are connected with a camera interface 204, the controller 201 can execute the read/write processing on both the first nonvolatile memory 202 and the second nonvolatile memory 203.
