PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP device capable of enhancing a light emission efficiency stably even if there are variations in a panel configuration and a driving waveform. SOLUTION: An iterval when both of sustain pulses 313, 314 are at a low level, namely, an interval t<SB>LOW</SB>between timing t<SB>1</SB>and timing t<SB>2</SB>is set. As an example, the length is set to about 0.1(μsec). Also, with respect to an interval between timing 6 and timing 7, the interval t<SB>LOW</SB>is set to a similar length of 0.1(μsec). As to a sustain pulse 322, rise timing t<SB>5</SB>is set precedently by a predetermine time to the respective rise timing t<SB>2</SB>, t<SB>7</SB>of the sustain pulses 313, 314, and the fall timing t<SB>3</SB>, t<SB>8</SB>are set within the interval t<SB>LOW</SB>in the sustain pulses 313, 314.
