PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow particle of HEV having antigenicity of the HEV, a DNA encoding the hollow particle of the HEV, a recombinant vector containing the DNA, and a transformant transformed by the recombinant vector.

SOLUTION: The hollow particle of the hepatitis E virus comprises a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence comprising a specific sequence, or a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having ≥80% homology to the amino acid sequence, and having the antigenicity to the hepatitis E virus. The DNA encoding the hollow particle is also provided.
