PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary encoder which can be mounted to a drive shaft in precise and versatile manner using a simple method. SOLUTION: A rotary encoder is provided with two collet chucks. One collet chuck is constructed as a tension sleeve; the tension sleeve holds an encoder shaft (14), in a shaft direction where a cramping jaw (34) is placed at a free end of the sleeve. The other collet chuck is constructed as a tension ring; the tension ring is fitted into the encoder shaft (14) by a clamping jaw (38). Both collet chucks are stressed in mutually opposite directions in the shaft direction by a pressing element (40), and to the encoder shaft (14) stress is applied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
