<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system capable of organic cooperation of audio communication with IM communication. <P>SOLUTION: Terminals 1 and 2 can simultaneously perform audio communication and instant message (IM) communication. When there is a call at the terminal 1 from the terminal 2 via audio communication and the terminal 1 receives a user's input indicating that IM communication is used in combination with audio communication, the terminal 1 returns a response to the call and enables audio communication, and at the same time, activates an IM communication application program and automatically sets as an IM transmission destination the terminal 2 which has sent the call to get ready to immediately transmit IM to the terminal 2. Thereby, for example, when IM communication is used to respond a telephone call at a place, such as inside of a train or the like, where it is inappropriate to respond with audio, the response can be quickly performed.
