PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactive group-containing silyl group-modified norbornene-based resin having improved adhesiveness to metals and the like without deteriorating transparency, heat resistance, low moisture absorbability, low water absorbability, chemical resistance, moisture resistance, water resistance and low birefringence, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This norbornene-based resin whose polymer both ends are modified with reactive silyl groups and which is synthesized by the ring-opening metathesis polymerization of a monomer component comprising one or more norbornene-based monomers.
