PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method of a processless printing plate material which is developable on a printing machine and excellent in stain recovery properties in printing and in plate wear resistance, dampening water for the processless printing plate material used for the method and the processless printing plate material. SOLUTION: The dampening water used for printing the processless printing plate material contains an alkylene glycol monoalkyl ether compound, and the concentration of fluorine ions is 0-0.1 ppm, while the concentration of calcium ions is 0.01-40 ppm.
