The seat (1) has a cushion (2), and a backrest (3) swivelably brought between a vertical use position and a horizontal loading position, where the backrest includes a covering plate on its back side. A plate section (9) is hinged in continuation of the covering plate and is swivellable about a swivel axis, which runs transverse to a longitudinal direction of a vehicle. The plate section is swivelably arranged in such a manner that it forms a ramp unit extending between a loading base and a loading edge, where the load base is formed by the covering plate.
