<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with reduced cost and easy to manufacture while it is the battery capable of preventing a thermo-runaway reaction by causing contact short circuit at the time of abnormal heat generation of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery 100 has a wound round electrode body 130. Out of it, a positive electrode plate 131 has a second positive electrode active material non-existing part 136 which does not have a positive electrode active material layer 133. Also, the negative electrode plate 141 has a negative electrode active material non-existing part 145 which does not have a negative electrode active material layer 143. Then, a separator 151 has a short circuit planned part 155 which is interposed between these second positive electrode active material non-existing part 136 and the negative electrode active material non-existing part 145. This short circuit planned part 155 moves by the heat at the time of abnormal heat generation of the battery and produces a short circuit passage 158 which enables contact short circuit of the active material non-existing parts 136 and 145. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
