<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize an amount of current supplied to a stepping motor. <P>SOLUTION: The temperature and humidity in an apparatus are measured. It is determined which region in a predefined humidity chart the measured temperature and humidity correspond to, and the counter for the region is incremented by one. An estimated value of load exerted on a stepping motor is computed using the count on the counter for each region and a predetermined weighting factor.
