摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device capable of suppressing wear due to creeping, and capable of suppressing abnormal detection, even when there is deformation due to repeated appliance of high stress such as during turning of an automobile, by improving fatigue strength and hardness in a bearing constituent member fit with a support component such as a pulser ring or a sensor cap provided with a part to be detected or a detecting part for rotation detection. SOLUTION: In the wheel bearing device of an outer ring rotating type provided with an inner ring 15 and an outward member 2 to be an outer ring, the pulser ring 41 is attached to an end outer circumference of an inboard side of the outward member 2. A surface of a portion to be fit with the pulser ring 41 of the outward member 2 is regarded as a portion 30 of a non-normal structure. The non-normal structure is any one of a fine ferrite-pearlite structure, an upper bainite structure, a lower bainite structure, or a tempered martensite structure, or a mixed structure of at least two types of the structures. In a wheel bearing device of an inner ring rotating type, a fitting part of the sensor cap is regarded as the portion of the non-normal structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
