PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium error recovery device, method and program for performing recovery even when any medium error is generated in a display array device in such a status that redundancy is missing. SOLUTION: This disk array controller 100 is provided with at least a medium error information storage processing part 101 for detecting a medium error, and for registering a storage area where the medium error has been generated in a medium error management table 102; a medium error management table 102 and a medium error prevention processing part 103 for, when making a write request to the storage area where the medium error has been generated, preventing the medium error by making the write request after executing reassignment processing to a disk device group 104.
