PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which performs a stable image formation by preventing a carriage from vibrating and shaking. SOLUTION: A pair of main scanning rails (main and subsidiary) are arranged on the upstream section of an image forming region. The subsidiary rail on the upstream side is shifted to the upper side in the vertical direction to the main rail with a platen surface as the reference surface. The bearing on the subsidiary rail side can slide in the subsidiary scanning direction and is urged by a spring in the horizontal direction for this image forming device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
