PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device capable of preventing a liquid crystal from leaking to the outside of a cell beyond a sealant and obtaining desired electrical characteristics and reliability, and an apparatus for manufacturing the liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal device configured to arrange the liquid crystal between a pair of substrates stuck together via the sealant 52 includes a process of forming the sealant 52 on one substrate 10 of a pair of the substrates, a liquid crystal supply process of supplying the liquid crystal 50 on the one substrate 10, a comparison process for comparing the height H2 of the sealant 52 on the one substrate 10 and the height H1 of the liquid crystal 50, and a process of sticking together the other substrate via the sealant 52 to the one substrate 10 when the height H1 of the liquid crystal 50 is lower than the height H2 of the sealant 52.
