PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent light from entering a driver unit and to improve the use efficiency of exit light of an illuminating device. SOLUTION: An electro-optical device is provided, which is equipped with a transparent substrate 11, a driver unit 14 placed at a position out of a display area on one surface of the transparent substrate and driving pixels, an illumination device 21 illuminating the display area from the other surface side of the transparent substrate, and a reflector 19 disposed on the other surface of the transparent substrate at a position corresponding to the above driver unit and reflecting the light propagating from the illumination device to the driver unit.
