PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing member which easily specifies the contact state of a seal lip with a seal groove, improves sealing properties, and has excellent heat-resistance and chemical resistance. SOLUTION: A contact angleαof an inclined wall surface 18 of an end edge 16 in the seal lip 13 of the seal member 4 with the side wall surface 14 of the seal groove 7 is specified to 13°to 44°, and the contact angleβof the inner peripheral surface 20 of the end edge 16 of the seal lip 13 with the side wall surface 14 of the seal groove 7 to 91°to 100°.
