PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finger holding device which allows at least two fingers to perform a holding operation and can increase a holding force while increasing the speed of the finger by using a compact type low output rotary actuator. SOLUTION: A movable member (12) which is freely movable along a predetermined direction is provided on a base member (10), and a rod member (16) is rotatably supported on that. First and second screw threaded parts (16A, 16B) are formed on the rod member, and these screw thread parts are the same type screws. However, a screw pitch of the first screw thread part is smaller than the screw pitch of the second screw thread. A friction plate (24) is provided between the first and the second screw thread parts, and a movable gear (18) is screwed with the first screw thread part so as to move along it. A movable finger member (32) is screwed with the second screw thread part so as to move along it.
